Code of Conduct
The code of conduct is a set of rules regarding how you should act, for lack of better words, on FearTales forum. These are general rules for each board (unless a specific board has a thread stating otherwise). Violating these rules can result in actions made by staff that could hinder your ability to post, or even continue using your account. Please make sure to read through these rules carefully.
Consequences of Violating the Code of Conduct
First Offense: You will be issued a warning as a reply to said post.
Second Offense: You will be issued a warning as a reply to said post. Additionally, to make sure you've seen the warning, you will be sent a warning via Message, as well as an email.
Third Offense: The time for warnings are over, and you will be suspended from using the site for three days.
Fourth Offense: At this point, we will have no choice but to permanently ban you from the site.
We'd like to note that if the offender is breaking any laws, (posting links to pirated books, movies, games, etc) if the offense in question becomes a legal matter, it can and most likely will, result in an immediate ban, and you will no longer be able to participate on the site.

The Rules!
These rules are subject to change, and can be changed at any point. We suggest you keep an eye out for any changes to the rules, so that you know you won't break any!
- No Bullying or Harassment of ANY kind! This should be a given, but this is the internet, and there are a lot of disrespectful people floating around. We simply ask that you don't bully or harass. This goes for sexual harassment, as well as baiting/trolling. It will not be tolerated!
- No Posting Links! Do not post links to other sites. There is a board for self promotion within the forum, where you can post links to other sites such as your blog or your store. You can post links to threads on this forum, however, please only do so when appropriate. For example, if someone asks where to find a certain thread for information, such as the rules, you could link this thread to them in a reply!
- Don't Spam! Don't spam. If the site is active, and threads are being made, and your thread is going into the abyss, you can bump your thread, however, have at least an hour of time pass before you bump again.
- Don't Double Post. This sort of ties in with not spamming, but we ask that you don't double post. What we mean by this is don't reply to a thread, then reply again with additional thoughts. Either wait for another reply, or edit your original reply/post. Bumping a thread is the only exception.
- No Low Value Posts! What we mean by low value is a post that's very short. A post that is just a single sentence. Add value to your post by giving more description to what you are talking about. If you are a writer, you shouldn't have ANY low value posts!
- Check Your Spelling and Grammar! While we understand that this is the internet, and everyone speaks in text speak (u instead of You, y instead of Why) it can be difficult to do so. We won't be nit picky about it, but as a courtesy to other members, please use proper spelling and grammar, ESPECIALLY if you are doing a writing post!
- Don't Have Over-Sized Images That Stretch The Board! Don't have your image so big that it stretches and distorts the page! That can get annoying and tedious! Images should be no larger than 400x400 pixels.
- Do Not Show Images Or Links Containing Nudity or Pornographic Material! While this board is for more mature users, we want to keep things moderated. No pornographic links or images. However, you may use images that are provocative, as long as it doesn't show full nudity. Let's keep things PG-13, SLIGHTLY rated R. If that makes any sense.
- Don't Excessively Swear! This one is a bit tricky. Since this is a writing forum, there is bound to be characters who's personalities involve excessive swearing. This is perfectly fine. However, we ask that outside of your stories, you keep it to a minimum. You can say whatever, just don't go overboard.
