Hey everyone, I’m Chris! I’m a 27 year old amateur horror screenwriter from Las Vegas, Nevada. Who also happens to love sci-fi so this basically is the perfect place for me.
A little about me. I love dogs, favorite horror movie is Scream, and I’m currently a manager at a McDonalds. Most of my online horror writing are fan scripts for movies I’d either like to see remade or just want to put my stamp on due to my love for them. So you can expect lots of fun horror fan scripts coming your way!
I look forward to getting to know everyone here and watching this site grow!

I know I welcomed you in the Shoutbox, but even so, welcome to FearTales! I've never tried my hand at screenwriting, but I'm interested in seeing what you can bring to the board!

Screenwriting is fun but I did start with stories so I feel you. And thanks! I’m excited to be here!

I see you've posted some stuff already! Question, are these like, your own take on a script? Or are they scripts written by the original writers? I'm just curious as I don't want to see plagiarizing.
Do you also write original scripts? Like, stories and characters from your own imagination?

They are my own takes on scripts. No plagiarizing. My writing is like a FanFiction in script form. I take the basics of a story and put my own spin on them. With credits at the start to their original creators of course. You’ll never have to worry about me plagerizing. All my scripts are written from scratch by me.
Indeed I do. But I keep most of those to myself in hopes of selling one day. I consider my online writing a hobby and love sharing. That said a lot of the time I use original characters for my scripts even if they are remakes and/or sequels.

I've read FanFictions before but never in script form. That sounds pretty interesting. I'm excited to read some of it! I was eyeballing the Paranormal Activity one you posted, I'm most likely gonna be reading that one in a bit. At least start it haha, because I've got some writing of my own I have to get done, plus I've got more ideas for the board that I think would be interesting! I'm not gonna give anything away though, because I'm still working out some details. I believe it will draw some more attention to the forum for sure though haha
And that's understandable. I've got some story ideas that I want to put on Amazon, which those won't be posted on this site, unless I decide to post in the "Promote Yourself" board. I am interested in reading your scripts though, so I'm definitely going to be checking those out!

I totally get you. And yeah it’s new ish in the last few years but they are a lot of fun! I’m looking forward to reading your stuff too!
I totally get you! I may share my current piece (a ghost story set in 1960s London) if I get it copyrighted as a test group but we shall see. Best of luck to you with the ones you’re submitting to Amazon btw!

I might try my hand in it, we shall see! I've never attempted to do screenwriting, however, I've thought about it, as I know someone who knows someone in the industry, and I love writing stories!
A ghost story set in 1960s London sounds pretty awesome. If you share that, I'd totally be down to read it!

It’s a lot of fun!
Omg yessss I am looking forward to Halloween! It’s announcement a few years back is what prompted my upcoming script in fact! Movie looks amazing!
And that was true a few years ago - but not so much now. On the Hollywood thing. Especially with the rise of indie companies!

And that was true a few years ago - but not so much now. On the Hollywood thing. Especially with the rise of indie companies! I second this. With the way the internet works in this day in age, you could potentially live in Maine, and be a script writer, sending it in to the big dogs in Hollywood. Now, I'm not a script writer myself, and I have no experience with it, but I imagine with the internet, anything is possible. In my opinion, I think it would be a better option to start off with writing for indie companies, especially if there are any near you. There's a movie production studio for independent films in the city north of where I live. For me, if I were to pursue screenwriting, that's who I would personally contact. It could be different for you guys though haha
