Hello, FearTales, my name is Michael, and I am your admin. I'd like to introduce myself, so that everyone can get to know the man behind the forum.
I started this forum because I recently started getting interested in writing. My wife, Autumn, who you may or may not see lingering around the site, is actually an indie author. So I suppose some inspiration came from her. Though, her genre is more romance/erotica, while I am more of a lover of Science fiction, horror, fantasy, the more adventurous types of stories. I made this site with the idea of creating a community of like minded individuals, and just have a good time! Writing is fun, and writing is fun when you can interact with others as you do so! I sort of drew inspiration from sites like fanfiction.net. Though I wanted to narrow things down, and try to do things a little bit differently.
Now, if you are here reading this, you probably already know what the site is about at this point, so instead of talking about the site, let me talk about who I am. I'm 23 years old, married, and have three little girls. Aurora, Anastasia, and Luna, from oldest to youngest, Aurora being the oldest, Luna being the youngest. Being a father and husband can be tough, but I love my family!
I've always been into writing, I just never tried to pursue it as a career or anything unlike my wife, though, I'm actually considering it, as it's something I love to do. But there's so many other things I want to do as well, so I'm sort of experimenting with things. I've always had troubles finding what I really want in life, but I guess that's just part of life. It's part of the adventure that we have to go through to achieve that feeling, when we are close to taking our last breath, that we can say "My life was perfect."
I've tried to pursue several career paths in my life. About four years ago, I was working at being a chef. I was working at a retirement home at the time, on the sixth floor, where the big fancy kitchen was. Even though when I was working there, my job title was dish washer, I was cooking for a majority of the time. My dream was to become a chef, and open up my own restaurant! I guess that dream sort of faded away though, as I don't really want that for my life anymore. That's sort of a problem that I have, where my interests speed by, giving me and everyone around me whiplash!
Before making this site, I've been working on music; producing instrumentals, writing songs and recording, that type of thing. It's been kind of a roller coaster though, I'm not going to lie! That's okay though, because it's not something I plan on giving up. There's no problem with running a writing site on the side though! I mean, why not? Music is in my soul, I didn't get "Feel The Music" tattooed on my right forearm for no reason! However, I can't limit myself. Limiting yourself will lead to burnout. Burnout is never good. That's why my YouTube channel failed. It's a lot more work than you might think!
That aside, I'm very excited to see what comes of FearTales! It's something I have a deep, vivid vision for. (Say that three times fast!) I feel like something great can come of this site as a community, so that's what I'm aiming at! That's what I'm looking at through my cardboard tube that present wrapping paper comes with! I'm looking right at it, I can see it! So I just have to reach! Reach out to all of you.
Before FearTales, I've run other forums, just not.. recently. It's been years since I've been on a forum, believe it or not! Though when I was active on forums, I was a part of some role play forums. I was really big into forum role playing back in the day! Hence why I put a section dedicated to role playing on here. Some of the forums I was a part of, I was either just a member, or I ran them. I've made a few small forums, that were successful not in that there were a lot of members, but in that the communities were great, and we had a lot of fun doing what we were doing! I hope to see that here!
